Dinner & Dance story

Last Saturday, we attended ERC (ExxonMobil Recreation Club) annual Dinner & Dance. We rarely missed the dinner, mostly because it was always fun. We always have good food, great performances from local artists, great company of friends and most importantly the lucky draws! This year we have Hall of Legends theme, maybe because of the recent demise of King of Pop, Michael Jackson. We didn't dressed up crazily; hubby being a cool and smart looking Jason Mraz, and I dressed up as a... err..well, me? But when I looked at the pictures, I do look like a vampire, with the chalky face and red eyes.. hahaha.. still on Twilight fever, maybe?

Back to the dinner, this year it was quite a disappointment. The whole gang was not there, we didn't dressed up crazily like during the Masquerade year (that was the best ever!), and there was no famous artists performing! The live band was kinda boring, although it picked up towards the end when people were dancing, and the lucky draws prizes are not that attractive, not as previous years!!! Not that I am that lucky (I only got lucky once!). The Michael Jackson impersonator and dancers are boring.. and even the food was a disappointment!! Usually we have 7-8 chinese course, which I liked a lot, but this year we have this fusion of Malay and Indian food, to a point of just weird. It's more like a wedding dinner rather than Dinner & Dance. Where's the fun in that?

However, the comedians are hilarious!! (You can check them out at their site ) Deeply politically influenced, it was really funny if you know the political chaos in our beloved nation. Selamba je kutuk, tara hal... and the MCs were really good too! They are DJs from Light FM. At least they made it a little bit interesting. Anyway, all in all.. we had fun.. took some pictures (although not as much as we want to), and danced to a couple of songs. The band's choice of songs are not bad towards the end, gearing more for the younger generations. Some friends joined in the dance floor.. I found out that one friend can't really dance.. hahah.. (jangan marah yer)
